Travelling to Nottingham
NEW! Arrival information available
You can now access version 1.0 of
the site map which tells you what to do when you arrive at the Jubilee
Campus. This is a nice printer-friendly PDF file so you can print it to
carry with you on your journey here.
This site guide should be read in conjunction with the timetables:
This page contains information to help you get to Nottingham. The page itself
contains many suggestions, and you might also want to look at the University's
travel help page for international students (although the prices are
slightly out of date!).
Travelling to Nottingham is easy. Intercontinental travellers
will probably arrive at London's Heathrow Airport, and can catch
the Airport Bus from any of the four terminals
to Nottingham's Broadmarsh Bus station, for £33. It is a short taxi ride
(about five pounds) to the Jubilee Campus from the bus station,
and taxis are easy to find on the street outside the bus station.
European travellers might arrive at the
East Midlands airport,
especially if travelling
with British Midlands,
Go or
BMI Baby.
The airport is about half an hour by car from the Jubilee Campus,
and a taxi
costs around twenty pounds.
If you are travelling to Nottingham by train, you can check the
timetables at Railtrack site.
There are taxis outside the train station and it will cost around five
pounds to the Jubilee Campus.
If you are driving to Nottingham, you can find maps and directions
on the University's
guide to the Jubilee Campus. Also, we have supplemented these
maps with our own
directions.

Accommodation
We recommend that delegates take advantage of the on-site accommodation in
the student halls of residence, which is the most convenient for access to
all the conference events. Using the
online registration form on the registration page, you are
able to book this accommodation at the same time as registering for the
conference. Certainly this will be a very sociable option, as you will
all be staying in the Hall together and the Hall bar is open to
residents "till you drop"!
However some of you may want off-site accommodation, especially if you are
travelling with family. There are very few hotels within walking
distance of the campus, but many are within a short taxi ride (about five
pounds). To book these please contact the University's free hotel reservation service, through either of the two people below:
